Surf Camp at Cherry Tree Farm — 11th–15th August 2025
This summer, we’re heading back to the waves for an informal Surf Camp at the beautiful Cherry Tree Farm campsite in Croyde. It’s five days of laid-back camping, surfing, and space to encounter God together — all wrapped in the salty air and sunsets of the North Devon coast.
We’re keeping things simple: no official programme, just shared beach days, chilled evenings, and moments to connect with each other and the divine.
Dates: Monday 11th – Friday 15th August
Where: Cherry Tree Farm Campsite, Croyde
Cost: Around £220 for 2 adults and 2 kids (please book directly with the campsite)
How to book: Head to their website and book in the ROCKET field. In the notes section, write that you'd like to camp near John and Mim Good.
Please note:
You’ll need to sort your own food (there are supermarkets and cafés in nearby towns and a pizza van onsite and at the beach)
Bring your surfboards, wetsuits, or just come to play in the sea
Communicate on Whatsapp if you dont have surfing or camping gear.
Everyone’s welcome — surfers, bodyboarders, paddlers, and beach dwellers alike. It’s about community, waves, Learning more about Jesus through the natural world. Bring your friends!

🌿 Wild Minds 1 : Living with a Wild Mind
📍 Meeting point: Shell Bay — https://w3w.co/tracks.wasp.forgot
🪑 What to bring:
A bottle of water
A chair or something comfy to sit on
Clothes for warm or wet weather
A towel (if you’d like to be baptised!)
We’re a beautifully mixed bunch at Ocean Church—some of us are loud, some are quiet, some move fast, others meander like rivers. Some of our minds are wired like spaghetti junction. Some of us feel everything deeply, and some of us are still learning how.
At this first gathering of our Wild Minds series, we’ll be asking:
What does it mean to live with a "wild" mind in the eyes of God?
How do we relate deeply to each other when our brains work so differently?
Can nature help us reconnect—body, mind, and soul?
We’ll be listening to each other’s stories—honest, raw, funny, moving—about what it’s like to live with a wild mind. Because when we hear each other, we start to really see each other.
This is for anyone who’s ever felt a bit “too much” or “not enough.” Neurodivergent or neurotypical, come and be part of a safe, creative, outdoor space where questions are welcome and difference is celebrated.
There’ll be reflections, playful activities, time in nature, and space to just be.
Also, there will be people getting Baptised. So if you would like the opportunity too, please let us know!
Oh—and food is free for all. (If you’d like to contribute, you can use the donation link below.)
Please let us know in the Whatsapp group how many of you are coming and whether you have any dietary requirements.
Come with your whole self. Bring a friend. Let’s explore what it means to live fully and wildly, together.

Worship in the woods
🌲 Worship in the Woods – Family Saturday
Saturday 13th September, 10am–3pm
Adventure Pirate, Poole — https://w3w.co/stays.charmingly.basis
Ocean Church has been experimenting with outdoor worship for a while now—trying things, learning as we go, making space for wonder, creativity and occassionally, music. This day flows out of that journey.
We’re learning how to help each other—especially as households—worship outside in the great outdoors. And this day is about just that: equipping, resourcing, and training ourselves to grow in this practice.
We’d love to widen the invitation out to other churches across Dorset too. If you’re exploring outdoor worship where you are, or want to start, come join us. Let’s strengthen each other.
Led by our friends Sam and Sara Hargreaves the team from Engage Worship, the day might include forest walks, music, workshops, Bible reflections, a possible firepit, and creative activities for all ages.
🪵 What to bring:
A picnic lunch
A camping chair or blanket
Clothes for whatever the weather is doing that day
An open heart and mind
🕊️ Time: 10am–3pm
📍 Location: Adventure Pirate, Poole — https://w3w.co/stays.charmingly.basis
💷 Cost: We're keeping the prices accessible by only charging £10 for adults. Under 18s come free!

THE BIG TABLE
🥘 The Big Table
There’s a loneliness problem.
And we think one of the most radical things you can do in 2025 is... eat with people.
At Ocean Church, one of our core habits is simple: invite people into your household—regularly, intentionally, around food. So this October, we’re launching The Big Table: a shared adventure in connection and community.
We’ve got over 80 people in our WhatsApp community—but let’s be honest, most of us don’t really know each other yet. This is your chance to change that.
Here’s how it works:
Sign up as an individual or a household
You’ll be grouped with two other households or individuals
This is your table. You’ll be given a private WhatsApp group for your table so you can start chatting, planning, and getting to know each other.
Over the four weeks of October, you’ll rotate around each other’s homes (or chosen location), sharing a meal each time
The focus each week is on the host—what they love, their story, their way of life
As guests, your job is to draw that story out
After each meal, reflect together (or solo) through a blog post, short video, or voice note—whatever feels natural
By the end, you’ll have shared three meals, told three stories, and taken one small step toward a less lonely world
This isn’t about fancy food or perfect hosting—it’s about real conversation, open tables, and the sacred, ordinary gift of being known.
🍽️ Want in? Sign up now and take your place at The Big Table.

🌀 Wild Minds 2: Learning with a Wild Mind
📍 Meeting point: Wimborne River — https://w3w.co/grabs.mountains.melon (If you are lucky, you should be able to park at the 2nd Wimbourne scout base here ///harmless.cabbies.neater)
🪑 What to bring:
A bottle of water
A chair or something comfy to sit on
Clothes for warm or wet weather
A towel (just in case you're feeling brave and want a dip!)
Some of us learn by doing. Some by moving. Some by sitting still in silence. Others by asking a thousand questions. And for some of us, learning has felt like a constant uphill battle—like the system was never designed with us in mind.
In our second Wild Minds gathering, we’ll be wondering:
What does it mean to learn with a “wild” mind?
What did learning look like for Jesus and his disciples—outside, on foot, in conversation?
What happens when we stop trying to fit in and start learning in ways that fit us?
We'll share stories of school (the good, the bad, the “I just couldn’t sit still”), swap ideas for learning in nature, and explore how our wild minds might be not just valid—but sacred.
This space is for everyone. Whether you’ve been labelled, misunderstood, praised, or punished for the way you think—come and bring your brain, your questions, your full messy self.
There’ll be reflections, creative activities, gentle time in nature, and space to just breathe.
Oh—and food is FREE FOR ALL. (If you’d like to contribute, you can use the donation link below.)
Please let us know in the WhatsApp group how many of you are coming and whether you have any dietary requirements.
Come curious. Come as you are. Let’s learn how to learn—together.

💛 Wild Minds 3: Loving with a Wild Mind
📍 Meeting point: Adventure Pirate — https://w3w.co/stays.charmingly.basis
🪑 What to bring:
A bottle of water
A chair or something comfy to sit on
Clothes for warm or wet weather
A towel (optional, but you never know where love might lead...)
We’ve explored living with a wild mind. We’ve asked questions about how we learn.
Now—what about love?
How do we love God with a mind that’s messy or fast or scattered or sensitive?
How do we love others when empathy runs deep, or social cues feel like another language?
And maybe the most daring question of all: how do we learn to love our own wild minds?
At this final gathering in the Wild Minds series, we’re hoping to hear from someone with lived experience and expertise—someone who can help us explore what it means to love your mind, and to allow that mind to love God and others in return.
We’ll reflect on Jesus’ call to “love God with all your mind,” and wonder together: what does all really mean? What if it includes the chaotic, the beautiful, the broken, the brilliant?
There’ll be story-sharing, gentle practices, time in nature, and space for silence or connection.
Oh—and food is still FREE FOR ALL. (If you’d like to contribute, you can use the donation link below.)
Please let us know in the WhatsApp group how many of you are coming and any dietary needs.
Bring whatever you’ve got—questions, stories, uncertainty, hope. We’ll figure it out together.

VISION DAY
🌳 Ocean Church Vision Day
Saturday 15th November | Emmanuel Baptist Church, Swanage
We’d love you to join us for a full, fun, all-age Vision Day where we pause to reflect, grow, and look ahead together.
We’ll be gathering at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Swanage for the whole day. It’ll be relaxed, friendly, and full of good food and honest conversation.
Here’s the shape of the day:
☀️ Morning – Safeguarding Training (Level 2)
The first session is for all adults involved in Ocean Church. We’re running Level 2 safeguarding training because we want everyone to be ready to lead. If you’ve got an idea for an adventure or want to help shape the future of Ocean Church, this is for you. Getting trained now means you’ve already got what you need in place when the moment comes.
We’re hoping to have childcare support available during the morning, so grown-ups can focus on the session while kids are safely looked after and having fun.
🍽️ Lunch – Delicious!
We’ll break for lunch with some seriously good food and plenty of time to chat, connect, and let the morning settle in.
💷 Afternoon – The Money Conversation
In the afternoon, we’ll open up a wide, honest conversation about money.
What is it? How do we use it? What does God think of it?
How can we handle it wisely, generously, and creatively as a church community?
We want to build a culture of openness and trust when it comes to finances—and we want everyone to be part of that.
👧🏽👦🏾 Kids & Young People
The afternoon will be all-age friendly, and we’d love the children and young people to be part of the vision too. There’ll be activities to help them join the conversation and bring their own energy and perspective to the table.
This is a day to shape who we are and how we move forward. Whether you’re new to Ocean Church or have been part of it since the start, you’re invited.
