🌿 St Edward’s Way Pilgrimage

October 7th–9th, 2025

Step into history and follow the ancient footsteps of those who carried the body of the boy king, St Edward the Martyr, from Wareham to Shaftesbury Abbey more than 1,000 years ago.

📍 The Route

  • Day 1: Wareham → Winterbourne Kingston (with lunch in Bloxworth)

  • Day 2: Winterbourne Kingston → Shillingstone (lunch in Winterbourne Stickland)

  • Day 3: Shillingstone → Shaftesbury (lunch at Bedchester crossroads)

In total, we’ll walk 32 miles over three days, through some of Dorset’s most beautiful countryside.

🏠 Practicalities

  • Overnight options: sleep in village halls or arrange your own transport to and from the route each day

  • Daily walking distance: 10–12 miles

  • Pilgrims of all ages and experience levels welcome

✨ The Journey
This is more than just a walk. Pilgrimage is a chance to connect body, mind, and spirit. Along the way, there’ll be space for reflection, silence, conversation, and shared meals.
